Students on blockade about last night's protests in Serbia: Police protected regime loyalists

(Patria) - Students on blockade have announced themselves on social media after the end of protests across Serbia held last night, stating that the authorities wanted to provoke a civil war with clashes last night.

„The regime has long determined the culprit – students and citizens are to blame. The state leadership is no longer hiding behind phrases about dialogue, the president has announced a cleanup. The police once again protected regime loyalists who threw stones and fired pyrotechnics at demonstrators. They even came out in front of the people with a gun,“ they stated in an Instagram post, adding that they „will not allow them to continue destroying human lives,“ wrote the students on blockade.

Protests were held across Serbia last night due to incidents and police conduct at rallies the previous day in Vrbas and Bačka Palanka. In most cities, SNS supporters gathered in front of party premises before the protesting citizens.

The Progressives also attacked citizens with pyrotechnics last night during protests in Novi Sad, after which clashes with citizens occurred.

A man pulled out a gun in front of SNS premises in this city. Belgraders tried to reach Čacilend, but the police did not allow them, so they blocked Slavija and surrounding streets.

Police arrested citizens near the Faculty of Law, and scenes of police brutality against citizens were recorded on the streets of Belgrade. There was also a confrontation between the gendarmerie and those gathered at the protest in Niš.

In cities across Serbia, demonstrators protested in front of SNS headquarters, guarded by the police, and in several places, cordons were broken through.
