Stjepan Mesić successfully operated on, recovering

(Patria) - Stjepan Mesić, former Croatian president and honorary citizen of Sarajevo, is recovering from surgery at the Naftalan hospital in Ivanić-Grad (Croatia).

Mesić was photographed this weekend at the Naftalan hospital in Ivanić-Grad together with the presidential candidate of HDZ, Dragan Primorac.

The former Croatian president was in a wheelchair in that photograph, so Dnevnik.hr checked what happened.

-He was mowing the grass and his Achilles tendon ruptured. He was operated on and is now undergoing rehabilitation - they learned from circles close to the former president.

The photograph of Mesić and Primorac spread on social networks, and Primorac relativized the meeting, claiming that it was "accidental and that they only exchanged a few words".

Mesić, on the other hand, did not want to comment.
