Serb without documents among three who broke into Croatian Army barracks

(Patria) - Croatian military police, in cooperation with the Lika-Senj police, filed misdemeanor charges against three civilians who entered the barracks in Udbina by car without authorization, and the driver also faces criminal charges for coercion against an official who jumped aside to avoid being hit by the vehicle.

Three civilians are suspected of entering the "Josip Jović" barracks in Udbina by car without authorization on Thursday, July 10, during which the driver refused to comply with an order from a military person to bypass a blockade, after which the vehicle drove away.

"Members of the Armed Forces stopped the civilians at the entrance to the barracks, after which the driver refused to comply with the order of the military person, but instead continued driving the vehicle toward the military person with the aim of bypassing the blockade, causing the Armed Forces member to step aside to avoid being hit by the vehicle, and the vehicle then left the barracks," the Croatian Ministry of Defense (MORH) announced.

The military police filed a criminal complaint against the driver with the municipal state attorney's office in Gospić on suspicion of committing coercion against an official, while a mandatory misdemeanor order was filed against all participants for violations of the Defense Act.

The criminal investigation was completed by the military police in cooperation with police officers of the Lika-Senj Police Administration, MORH stated.

Index: Serb without documents in the car, all had alcohol in their blood

As Index unofficially learned, the driver of the car is previously known to the police and has been punished. One of the three men in the car is a Serbian citizen who does not have valid documents to stay in Croatia. They also unofficially learned that a small amount of alcohol was measured in everyone's blood. The motive is currently unknown.

Stole ice creams, alcohol...

Jutarnji list writes that the car contained two Croatian citizens, Petar Živković (27) and Tyron Miljanović (29), both from Pula, and a Serbian citizen, Veljko Nedeljković (26), who does not have valid documents to stay in Croatia.

The car was driven by Živković, who is charged with the criminal offense of coercion against an official, and detention is being sought for him, reports Jutarnji list. The other two were released.

Tyron Miljanović is well known to the police and judiciary of Istria County, as his file contains about a dozen recorded criminal offenses, mostly property crimes. These included thefts of alcoholic beverages, IT goods from stores, and cigarettes, as well as thefts of ice cream, croissants, a light bulb, and a flashlight.
