(Patria) - The Serbian Ministry of Justice has sent a request to the judiciary of BiH for the extradition of a suspect for organizing transportation for Faton Hajrizi, who on the night between July 17 and 18 in Loznica killed one police officer and wounded another, RTS reports.
It is suspected that Z.R., who was arrested in Bijeljina on July 18, and his wife I.R., who was arrested in Mladenovac near Belgrade, organized transportation for Hajrizi from Preševo in southern Serbia to Loznica, where he shot at police officers.
Belgrade media report that Serbia also has an arrest warrant for Z.R. for serving an eight-year prison sentence to which he was convicted for drug trafficking.
In addition to the couple, a man from Tutin was arrested, who drove Hajrizi from Preševo to Loznica that night.
On July 19, police in Serbia killed Faton Hajrizi near the border with BiH after, as announced, he killed one and wounded another police officer.
The attack occurred when police officers, during a routine check, stopped a vehicle in which the suspect was located. As he was getting out of the car, he shot at the police officers with a pistol and then fled.
- When the police found him after a two-day search, he shot at police officers, after which he was liquidated - stated Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić on July 19.
Hajrizi escaped from the Correctional Facility in Smrekonica in Kosovo on July 6.
