SNSD rejects Dodik verdict and calls for 'government of national unity' in RS

(Patria) - President of RS Milorad Dodik remains the president of SNSD, it was said after today's session of the party's Presidency in Banja Luka, at which the verdict of the Court of BiH against Dodik was completely rejected.

The Court of BiH has finally sentenced Dodik to one year in prison and a ban on holding political office for the next six years, for disregarding the decisions of the High Representative in BiH.

SNSD called the verdict "an act of legal violence, political persecution and an attempt to derogate the will of the people" in the RS and called for the formation of a "government of national unity" in the RS and joint action by all parties from that entity in the state institutions of BiH.

Under joint action, SNSD proposes "rejection of decision-making" in BiH institutions "until the position of the RS guaranteed by the Constitution of BiH is restored".

"It is necessary to clearly and unequivocally reject the idea that anyone other than the citizens of the RS can decide who its legitimate representatives are," reads the conclusions of the SNSD Presidency.

From SNSD, they also announced that their representatives in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina will henceforth participate through "passive presence and non-decision-making".

The adopted conclusions also call for an urgent session of the NSRS to adopt "adequate decisions on the response to the unconstitutional and political verdict", without specifying what kind of decisions are involved. The same is requested from parliaments in cities and municipalities in the RS.

SNSD also "thanked" the leaderships of Serbia and Hungary for their support, while simultaneously raising the possibility of a "complete boycott" of activities related to EU integration, claiming that Brussels, and especially the EU Delegation in BiH, "sided with the unconstitutional and politicized Court of BiH".

It was also emphasized that in the coming period, the party will organize public forums and rallies to inform the membership and citizens about the party's policies and decisions.
