In the European momentum, the greatest since the aggression, as Elmedin Konaković and others from the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina like to boast, we have reached a stage where we are suffocating democracy. And not only for BiH citizens, but also for citizens of the European Union, specifically Slovenians, Romanians and Poles, who for some reason found themselves in our country, but will not be able to vote in the upcoming elections from 6 to 9 June!?
Ministers from the Republika Srpska in the Council of Ministers of BiH voted against allowing citizens of Romania, Slovenia and Poland to vote in the European elections in BiH due to those countries' support for the UN Resolution on Srebrenica!? The rest of the Council of Ministers is irrelevant, Milorad Dodik is once again racking up successes. He succeeded again – Bosnia and Herzegovina acts like an impossible country. And the policy that opposes Dodik, until yesterday humble and boastful towards the 'European Dodik', is sending apologies.
Thus, Konaković sent letters to his colleagues from Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, Romania, Luminița Odobescu, and Poland, Radosław Sikorski.
“The Minister, among other things, pointed out that this vote by ministers from the SNSD is not only an attack on the right of people to vote in democratic elections, but also demonstrates a destructive intention to harm bilateral relations with our important friends and allies in the European Union” – announced the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.
But why is this apology meaningless? Konaković, that is, his party NiP, as well as Naša stranka and the SDP, are most responsible for us being in a blockade, because in the 'fastest-formed Council of Ministers of BiH' they provided seats for SNSD cadres. They cannot dismiss them because they 'gifted' them a fourth delegate in the Club of Serbs in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and they learned nothing from the mistakes of the SDA. Even more, to bring the SNSD into power, they assured citizens that Milorad Dodik was completely different, that BiH could expect an unprecedented European momentum, that laws would be adopted on an assembly line, but to this day the promises have not been fulfilled.
Citizens have not even received the apology from Nermin Nikšić given in January 2023.
„Dragan Čović and Milorad Dodik have shown a willingness to work, cooperate and reach agreements. We must not kill that opportunity. If it turns out we are wrong - we will apologise and withdraw", said Nikšić in January 2023.
Today in June 2024, citizens of BiH have not received an apology, but Konaković sent an apology to Slovenia, Romania and Poland...
The Troika is completely incapable of protecting democracy, even if that meant enabling foreign citizens to vote without the SNSD. That way, they would indeed violate certain legal acts, but they would clearly show that they are part of the Western world.
This way we can expect adequate responses from these countries in terms of them resorting to reciprocity, and we all know how many BiH citizens live and work in Slovenia.
And Slovenia is also specific due to the activities of some of its MEPs regarding Bosnia and Herzegovina, who have often pointed out problems in our country and offered resolutions and solutions to improve the situation, which bothers Dodik and Aleksandar Vučić.
Perhaps it is too ambitious to expect statesmanlike behaviour from the weak Konaković, who is only strong when defending suspects in the 'Black Tie' case, but it is increasingly clear that things cannot continue like this.
Currently, fear is alive! Interrogations at SIPA due to opinions and speech, media under investigation, shootings on the streets, bombs, inflation that won't stop, crime flourishing... Now we are reaching a stage where we won't even be able to go to the polls.
The BiH budget is neither here nor there... Dodik announces documents seeking separation, while Denis Zvizdić and Nermin Nikšić respond that such proposals will be thrown into the trash by the first, and considered by the second. Later, Nikšić will correct himself, stating 'that no separation is out of the question'. Neither planned to involve the BiH Prosecutor's Office to investigate a possible future coup d'état and overthrow of the constitutional order!
In the general chaos created accidentally or intentionally, it is worth recalling that Konaković fiercely defended the ministers from the RS, who, by their vote, forced him to apologise around the world today.
I wonder if Nenad Nešić is still the best and most valuable minister in the Council of Ministers, as Konaković once shouted from the podiums!
