SLOVENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER Fajon sees Russia as a guarantor of peace in Europe!?

By: A. Čorbo-Zećo

To the general surprise of the public in Slovenia, and also in the European Union, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, appeared on the Russian news agency TASS.

The broadcast news did not criticize Minister Fajon, but rather plainly conveyed a statement made at a Slovenian diplomatic conference.

This translates to the statement by Tanja Fajon, who declares herself a great social democrat, aligning with Vladimir Putin's policies!

The Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that lasting peace and stability in Europe are impossible without Russia.

"As soon as peace is achieved, the most important thing - besides the reconstruction of Ukraine - will be to restore dialogue with Russia. This will help us prevent the start of a cold war in Europe. We understand that without Russia there will be no lasting peace and stability on our continent, so it will have to be part of the discussion about a new security architecture in Europe,” said Fajon, which was very well received in Russia!?

However, during her recent visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fajon said something different, so we wonder which Fajon is the real one.

In Sarajevo, she stated that the integration of the Western Balkan countries is high on the European Union's (EU) priority list, and that this is the key response to increased Russian influence in the region.

Where did Fajon disappear to in the fight against Russian influence, to the point where Russia must be consulted and negotiated with for lasting peace!?

"Slovenia has extended a hand to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it depends primarily on you how strongly you will grasp that extended hand from Slovenia and the EU," said Fajon.

And perhaps we would grasp that hand even tighter, if we knew precisely what we were grasping - the fight against Russian influence, or that hand which calls for Russia to have a say!?

If, however, we look at the history and Angela Merkel's ties with Russia, we will see that the plan to appease Russia is not going according to plan. The proof of this is the aggression against Ukraine, because demands are never enough.

Perhaps Fajon could remember that Russia's aggression against Ukraine since February 24 last year is an event that has marked a turning point in the history of Eastern Europe.

The fear of Russia, which has crept into that part of Europe, was the reason for new steps by the United States, such as the new deployment of American troops to that part of the world, the strengthening of a number of armies from the Baltics to the Black Sea, and the determination to defend "every inch" of allied territory, as President Joseph Biden said.

Along with Romania on the southern flank of NATO, Poland plays a leading role in strengthening the American presence in Eastern Europe.

And how many more of our own weaknesses and confusing policies will Brussels Europe, which is not coping well with the 'Russian world', serve us?
