SARAJEVO, WAKE UP How BiH is being divided — The Trojka at Brussels coffee, SDS and PDP generals on guard!

By Rasim Belko

If anyone had illusions these days that SDS and PDP have emancipated themselves from the Greater Serbian project that has been driving Greater Serbian political dynamics from Banja Luka since 1992, after the last vote in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS) – those illusions are gone. Or at least they should be. Namely, it was the deputies of these two parties who decided to support Željka Cvijanović's veto in the BiH Presidency, which blocks conclusions, including the one calling for EUFOR action against Dodik.

And with that, for the umpteenth time, they have shown that all talk about the "European path", "partnership", and "pro-European opposition in RS" is worth exactly as much as Dodik's promises – nothing. In fact, if we observe the post-Dayton developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina more accurately, it is impossible to ignore the facts that indicate that Dodik and SNSD, during their time in power at the state level, whether under pressure or not, have passed most of the state laws.

This vote is not just a procedural matter. Nor is it a coincidence. It is not a moment of weakness. This is a textbook example of political obedience to ideologies and policies that they have never abandoned. With this, SDS and PDP have clearly demonstrated that when it comes to crucial state issues, they always stand on the side of Greater Serbian policy, even if it means protecting Milorad Dodik, whom they supposedly politically challenge. And there is no room for naive interpretations anymore.

Unfortunately, the only ones who persistently refuse to learn from these events are the leaders of the Trojka and their satellites. Their infantile faith that by agreements, platforms, and accords with those who have been destroying the state for three decades, they will succeed in saving Bosnia and Herzegovina from a separatist campaign – is becoming political autism. Their constant pushing of the narrative about the "pro-European opposition in RS" is the political deception of the decade, as they have consciously ignored every piece of evidence indicating that SDS and PDP, when push comes to shove, always stand shoulder to shoulder with Dodik.

De facto, Dodik is a problem because, for the sake of a wider spectrum of his and his party's interests, he attacks the BiH Constitution and order, but he can be bargained with for the sake of the country's progress. And this has already been proven with numerous laws and institutions. Those presented to us as partners for a better tomorrow have not even a sliver of desire to negotiate anything that would be at the expense of Greater Serbian policy.

It is interesting that this scenario should have been clear to the Trojka and their partners as early as the signing of the platform and agreement with PDP and SDS, whose sentences are so hollow and lifeless that they could easily be used as templates for school assignments on platitudes.

Promises of "strengthening BiH institutions" and the "European path" have long become a colorful lie that no one believes anymore, not even those who write them. Because, while Dodik is destroying the state with a bulldozer, SDS and PDP are bringing him fuel and maintaining that bulldozer. The moment Dodik offers an agreement at the state level, SDS and PDP launch an attack.

And while SDS and PDP have once again exposed their role as political lackeys of the Greater Serbian agenda, the Trojka continues to pretend not to have seen it. Their silence after this vote is as dangerous as the vote itself. If they are not prepared to openly break with the policies that are destroying this country – they become their accomplices. Because, it is no longer a problem that SDS and PDP betray BiH's interests, that has always been known. The problem is that there are those who still believe they can build a European and democratic state with them. And that is already a form of political pathology.

The question that now arises for the Trojka, NES, BHI, and Naprijed, as well as for those who verbally support them, is very simple: are they still willing to build a European Bosnia and Herzegovina with those who, in every important vote, when state sovereignty and international reputation are defended, stand in the Greater Serbian ranks? If they are – let them tell the citizens, so we know that "European Bosnia and Herzegovina" according to their measure actually means a BiH in which Banja Luka is the capital of the neighboring mini-state of RS.

Because, as a reminder, the deputies of SDS, PDP, as well as Nebojša Vukanović, criticize Dodik mainly on laws he has passed and then withdrawn, which are directly proportional to the interests of the fake opposition, which has a problem with Dodik not because he passed those laws, but because he withdrew them.

If this veto has shown anything, it is that we could never have expected anything else from SDS and PDP than what they have always been – the political wing of the Greater Serbian project, which cares less about BiH than Milorad Dodik himself. And the Trojka, if they continue as before, will be nothing more than useful idiots of that same project, wrapped in European slogans and empty platforms.
