Wooden ladder falls from top of shopping center in Novi Sad, 55-year-old woman seriously injured

(Patria) - Wooden ladder fell today around 2 PM from the top of the "Nork" shopping center in the center of Novi Sad, injuring a fifty-five-year-old woman.

A medical team was immediately dispatched to the scene and intervened with the highest priority.

The injured woman, after initial on-site care, was conscious but with multiple injuries.

She was urgently transported to the Emergency Center, where she was admitted to the resuscitation department.

According to the spokesperson for the Novi Sad Institute of Emergency Medicine, Zoran Krulj, the team reacted quickly and the patient was stabilized before transport.

As RTS learns, workers emerged from the Chinese department store and attempted to remove the wooden parts, but were prevented from doing so by citizens.

At the time of the fall, there was no sign warning of any work in front of or on the building.

The causes that led to the ladder falling are currently unknown, and more information is expected after the investigation.
