Russia accuses Serbian defense industry of continuing to supply weapons to Ukraine

(Patria) - Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has accused Serbia's defense industry of continuing to supply ammunition to Ukraine, despite Serbia's official neutral stance.

The SVR claims that Serbian companies sell ammunition through complex schemes involving false end-user certificates and intermediary countries.

According to the SVR, these intermediaries are mainly NATO members, primarily the Czech Republic, Poland, and Bulgaria. Some African countries are also allegedly involved in this network.

According to the SVR's claims, the contribution of Serbian factories includes hundreds of thousands of shells for multiple rocket launchers and howitzers, as well as a million rounds of ammunition for small arms.

The SVR states that the largest Serbian defense industry companies are involved in the supply, including Yugoimport SDPR, Zenitprom, Krusik, Sofag, Reyer DTI, Sloboda, Prvi partizan, and others.

Last summer, the Financial Times reported that Ukraine had received Serbian ammunition worth 800 million euros since 2022.

Serbian authorities, at the same time, claim that Serbia is not a party to the war in Ukraine, although it sells ammunition to Western countries, which can then forward it to Kyiv.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that he has nothing against Serbia selling ammunition to intermediaries who then redirect it to Ukraine.
