Shooting in a Cetinje tavern, several people killed

(Patria) - Several people have been fatally wounded in Cetinje by gunshots fired after a physical altercation in a local tavern.

This has been confirmed to the Podgorica-based Vijesti from several unofficial sources. The police are searching for the suspect, A.M. from Cetinje.

According to information from the Police Directorate, the multiple homicide occurred in the afternoon hours in the village of Bajice, in a catering establishment, when A.M. killed several people using a firearm.

Vijesti was told that a fight first broke out in the establishment on the outskirts of Cetinje, after which the man being sought drew his weapon and started shooting.

The Police Directorate appealed to the citizens of Cetinje to remain calm and stay in their homes, while all available police units are on the ground and undertaking activities within their jurisdiction to bring the situation under control and apprehend the perpetrator.

"We inform the public that this is a situational event, not a result of clashes between high-risk organized criminal groups. Special police units have been dispatched to the scene to resolve this crisis situation," the police stated.
