Convicted war criminal Nebojša Pavković dies

(Patria) - Convicted war criminal Nebojša Pavković has died at the age of 79 in Belgrade.

Recall, he was released on September 28 before serving his prison sentence in Finland to undergo treatment in Serbia.

He was an officer of the Serbian Army and was convicted for war crimes in Kosovo.

He was born on April 10, 1946, in the village of Senjski Rudnik. He graduated from the Military Academy of the Ground Forces (1970), the Command and Staff Academy, and the Command and Staff Operational School (with excellent success).

He was the commander of the Pristina Corps (from January 1998) and the commander of the Third Army of the Yugoslav Army (from December 1998 to February 2000).

In February 2000, he was appointed to the highest military position – Chief of the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army. He was dismissed by a decree of the President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Vojislav Koštunica, in June 2002.
