Tito's granddaughter Svetlana Broz passed away

(Patria) - Svetlana Broz, Josip Broz Tito's granddaughter, a cardiologist, writer, and human rights activist, passed away in Belgrade at the age of 70.

She was a prominent human rights activist, author of the cult book (seven editions), translated into six world languages, "Good People in Times of Evil", as well as the books "I Have Courage", "Righteous of Rwanda Between Oblivion and Reconciliation", "Galaxy Gojer", and "Mine".

She co-authored numerous books worldwide in the field of peace studies, founder and director of NGO "Gariwo" Sarajevo, where she, among the first in Europe, created and led education on civic courage through public lectures, Schools of Civic Courage, and publishing activities (over 60 books).

She founded the "Duško Kondor" award for civic courage and its affirmation, and made over 40 documentary films about the laureates.

She was a lecturer at 52 American and 80 European universities.

She is an honorary citizen of Tuzla. Recipient of the National Order of Merit of France, L'Ambrogino d'Oro and La Bussola dell’ Educazione "Margherita Zoebeli" of Italy. She was declared a righteous person in the World Park of the Righteous in Milan (Italy).

Svetlana Broz's cremation will take place on March 26 at 2:15 PM at the New Cemetery in Belgrade.
