
(Patria) - One of the three patients seriously injured in the collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station died today at the Clinical Center of Vojvodina, said the acting director of this health institution, Vesna Turkulov.
"It was a patient with the most severe injuries. The fifteenth victim of the accident that happened in Novi Sad on November 1st. Despite the doctors' fight and efforts, a fatal outcome occurred," Turkulov told Tanjug.
She added that the injuries were life-threatening from the very beginning and that doctors continue to fight for the lives of the other two seriously injured.
"On behalf of all employees, I want to once again express my deepest condolences to the family and thank the doctors who did their best," said Turkulov.
The canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station collapsed on November 1st, killing 14 people on the spot, and three were seriously injured.
A new protest was held in Novi Sad today demanding accountability for the canopy collapse. The intersection near the Railway Station was blocked. The gathered people read the names of those killed in the accident and began the blockade with a minute of silence.
We remind you, as Serbian media previously reported, that Vukašin C. (18) from Zmajevo, Anja R. (23) from Paraćin, and Teodora M. (24) from Kisač were hospitalized due to severe injuries sustained in the canopy collapse.
