(Patria) - The Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina has definitively confirmed the decision to reduce the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the 2025/26 season, the elite tier of Bosnian football will feature ten clubs, meaning that in the upcoming season, four clubs will be relegated from the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the champions of the entity leagues will enter the elite. In the 2025/26 season, 36 rounds will be played, reports Faktor.
The Executive Board of the NSBiH adopted the proposal for the decision to reduce the number of clubs on April 8, and this decision was confirmed and unanimously adopted today at the Assembly held in Ilidža.
The decision was adopted with three conclusions, with the third one being particularly significant, which, among other things, states:
“The Football Association of the Federation is tasked with convening an Extraordinary Assembly and shortening the league to 14 clubs,” said Zeljković.
Incidentally, out of the 60 delegates that the Assembly comprises, 59 were present at today's session.
“We have the quorum necessary to work. In accordance with the Statute and the Rulebook, we can validly make all decisions today,” said Vico Zeljković, President of the NSBiH.
