Soldiers also fighting fires in Montenegro: Helicopters dropped dozens of tons of water on fire sites

(Patria) - Members of the Army of Montenegro are also engaged in fighting fires from the air and from the ground today, the Montenegrin Ministry of Defense announced.

"Bell 412 helicopter crews dropped dozens of tons of water on fire sites, while ground units are continuously working to contain the flames and protect citizens' lives and property.

During the day, members of the VCG operated in Smokovac, Kuči, Doljani, Gornje Mrke, Topalovo, Gornji Rsojevići, as well as in other locations in the municipalities of Podgorica, Danilovgrad, and Nikšić," the statement said.

It is added that all activities of the Army of Montenegro are carried out in close coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, local protection and rescue services, as well as other competent institutions, in order to jointly protect endangered areas.

"The Army of Montenegro remains fully committed to performing its tasks and ready to provide assistance wherever needed," the statement emphasizes.
