Search for Alija Balijagić: Drones, Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and Gendarmerie in the Field

(Patria) - Alija Balijagić (65), suspected of a double murder, broke into a house in the Grančarevo settlement of Bijelo Polje and slept there, a source from the Police Administration told "Vijesti".

According to the same information, the DNA profile of the fugitive, who has been sought by the Montenegrin police for eight days, was found in that house.

Investigators are determining the time during which Balijagić stayed in that house.

As "Vijesti" reports, Alija Balijagić, a convicted rapist and robber who spent nearly four decades in prisons, on Friday, October 25, at around 9:10 PM in Sokolac, allegedly killed Jovan (60) and Milenka Madžgalj (69), and then fled.

That night, a pursuit began, and a day later, the Montenegrin police were joined by the army.

Yesterday, Balijagić also put the Serbian police on alert, after it was reported that he was seen in the outskirts of Prijepolje.

From Grančarevo and the house where he is believed to have slept, it took Balijagić nearly a day of walking to the area around Prijepolje, where he was seen yesterday, according to an official statement by the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivica Dačić.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, Danilo Šaranović, stated that he is in communication with his colleague from Serbia, Ivica Dačić, and that the police forces of Montenegro and Serbia are in continuous coordination and cooperation, making enormous efforts with the aim of depriving Balijagić of his freedom.
