(Patria) - A politician from the Serbian Democracy party, Stefan Velković, left the area where Vidovdan is being commemorated at Gazimestan, after refusing the police's request to leave the premises.
He was wearing a t-shirt with the image of his party leader, Aleksandar Arsenijević, and went there with a group carrying a Russian flag. A video in which the police ask Velković to leave the premises at Gazimestan was shared by Arsenijević.
Kosovo Police are looking for him, as he is suspected of having an arsenal of weapons hidden on his property in the village of Vallaq, Zvečan, which was seized in a police operation a few days ago.
"He is a person of interest for questioning. The first time we encounter him, he will be questioned, and then the prosecutor will decide on him," said the Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Police, Veton Elshani.
Serbs are today commemorating the Vidovdan holiday, which is celebrated at Gazimestan, on the outskirts of Pristina. The Kosovo Police announced that they have taken the necessary measures to manage the security situation and ensure the smooth running of activities during the "Vidovdan" events.
Today at Gazimestan, the Commander of the Special Unit, Besart Ahmeti, is present, closely monitoring every development related to this event.
