Police still searching for the killer of a brother and sister in Bijelo Polje

(Patria) - Brother and sister Milanka and Jovan Madžgalj were killed last night in the village of Sokolac near Bijelo Polje, while the suspect in this double murder is still on the run. The police state that all available units are in the field and are urging citizens to be cautious. According to unofficial information obtained by CdM, the suspect in this crime is a repeat offender Alija Balijagić.

Also, according to unofficial information, the suspect had lunch at the house yesterday before returning to kill the brother and sister.

Prosecutor Ljubica Caković told TVCG today that around 10 PM last night, the duty prosecutor was informed by the police that two bodies had been found in Sokolac.

“Measures and actions are being taken by the police and the prosecution. An investigation is planned for today,” said prosecutor Ljubica Caković.

The head of the Regional Security Center „Sjever“, Haris Đurđević, told TVCG that all police teams are on the ground, and the entire operational system in the Vraneška dolina area has been intensified.

The police announced last night that strong police forces, a helicopter from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and drones have been engaged.

The police are appealing to the citizens of Bijelo Polje, especially the residents of Tomaševo, to be cautious, stay in their homes, and not allow unknown persons entry.

They also appealed to citizens to report any information they believe could be significant regarding this crime to the police.

According to initial information, the bodies of the brother and sister were found in the house.

The police have identified one person suspected of being the perpetrator of this crime. Some information suggests it could be Alija Balijagić from Bijelo Polje. He is a repeat offender who has been seen in the village in recent days.

The police have been searching for the suspect Balijagić for 15 days in connection with the theft of a rifle.
