Plenković in Mostar: Full support for HDZ's demands for amendments to the Election Law

(Patria) - Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković met with the President of HDZ BiH Dragan Čović in Mostar today.

After the meeting, he stated that he fully supports HDZ's demand for amendments to the Election Law of BiH.

- We give full support to the demands of HDZ BiH for amendments to the Election Law with the aim of achieving equality of all three constituent peoples and legitimate representation of Croats in the Presidency of BiH - said Plenković.

He points out that tonight they discussed the importance of calming political tensions in the country, also taking into account broader global challenges.

Plenković also stated that on the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement, it is particularly important for all political actors in BiH to remain committed to respecting the constitutional framework.

- At Croatia's initiative, we will discuss the situation in BiH at the next meeting of the Council of the EU - announced Plenković.

Before that, the Prime Minister of Croatia also held a meeting with the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH Borjana Krišto, during which he also expressed his stance on the Election Law of BiH.

In this way, Plenković supported the policy of HDZ BiH, which refuses to support the appointment of Nebojša Vukanović as the Minister of Security of BiH, as long as the demand for the reform of the Election Law is not met.

In practice, HDZ, with the support of Croatia, is preserving SNSD's positions in the Council of Ministers of BiH through its policy.
