Plenković: Situation in BiH topic of next European Council meeting

(Patria) - A discussion on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina will also be held at the next European Council meeting, announced Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković yesterday.

Plenković said this during a meeting at Banski dvori with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, Dragan Čović, with whom he discussed the current situation in BiH.

- The discussion on BiH at the meeting of European prime ministers will be held at Croatia's initiative - said Plenković, according to a statement from the Croatian Government.

The next European Council summit is scheduled for June 26 and 27, but due to current geopolitical circumstances, it is believed that another extraordinary meeting will be held by then.

During the meeting with Čović, Plenković stated that it is "necessary to calm political tensions in BiH, accelerate the fulfillment of criteria on the European path, and achieve political consensus on electoral reform for the equal rights of all three constituent peoples".

He announced that he will traditionally participate in the Mostar Fair next week.
