(Patria) - President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović received the President of HDZ Andrej Plenković today at 10 AM, who submitted signatures of representatives as part of the constitutionally prescribed procedure for granting a mandate to form the Government of the Republic of Croatia.

“After submitting 78 signatures of elected representatives to the 11th convocation of the Croatian Parliament, I have been entrusted with the mandate to form the Croatian Government. In the third term as well, we will continue to work for the betterment of Croatia,” Plenković stated after the meeting.

Milanović, on the other hand, issued only a statement in which he stated that “Plenković has proven that he enjoys the confidence of the majority of all representatives”.

According to the Decision on Entrusting the Mandate to Form the Government of the Republic of Croatia, immediately after forming the Government, and no later than 30 days from accepting the mandate, the designate Andrej Plenković is obliged to present the Government's program and the Government to the Croatian Parliament and request a vote of confidence.

We remind you that President Milanović, on Thursday, based on the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia and the Law on Elections of Representatives to the Croatian Parliament, also made a Decision to convene the first session of the Croatian Parliament for May 16, 2024.
