Plenković: We have 76 signatures to form a new, stable Government

(Patria) - We have already collected 76 signatures today to form a new, stable Government of Croatia, stated the President of HDZ and the holder of the list in the European Parliament elections, Andrej Plenković.

- Today is the day when we have 76 signatures for our third government - said Plenković during the presentation of candidates and the HDZ election program for the upcoming European Parliament elections.

At the meeting of the Presidency of the Homeland Movement (DP), an agreement on forming a Government with HDZ was accepted, DP announced, giving Plenković 12 mandates.

DP, as the smaller coalition partner in the future government, received three portfolios - agriculture, economy, and demography and immigration, for which a new ministry will be established, both sides confirmed.

In addition to ministerial positions, they will also receive two Deputy Prime Minister positions and one Deputy Speaker of Parliament position.

DP won 14 mandates with its partners in the April 17 elections, but Mislav Kolakušić (Right and Justice) immediately split off from them on election night, and it was announced today that Josip Jurčević will also not give his signature, so DP has 12 parliamentary mandates.

HDZ and its partners won 61 mandates, meaning they were short of three votes to form a majority that Plenković would lead. These will be obtained, it was announced, from the Club of National Minorities without SDSS.

Teams from DP and HDZ reached an "agreement on forming a new parliamentary majority, as well as on the structure of the future Government" yesterday, announced Marko Milić on behalf of HDZ, after the second meeting held this week.
