Plenković and Rubio in Munich on the Equality of Croats in BiH and the Southern Interconnection

(Patria) - Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio today during the Munich Security Conference.

During the meeting, they discussed many topics, including the equality of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Southern Gas Interconnection project.

Plenković stated on social media that during the conversation they "confirmed the excellent allied relations between Croatia and the United States of America".

He also wrote that they discussed key global security challenges and bilateral cooperation in a number of areas.

"I emphasized the importance of Croatia's accession to the OECD and the upcoming ratification of the Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation, and announced the upcoming summit of the Three Seas Initiative in Dubrovnik.

We confirmed our intention to continue close cooperation in the fields of defense and energy, especially by utilizing the capacity of the LNG terminal in Krk, where most of the liquefied natural gas comes from the USA.

In this regard, I highlighted the strategic role of the JANAF oil pipeline as a reliable route for oil supply to the countries of Central and Eastern Europe," stated Plenković.

He said they also touched upon the situation in Southeastern Europe.

"I advocated for support for BiH, the achievement of full equality for Croats as a constituent people in BiH, and the continuation of activities regarding the realization of the Southern Gas Interconnection project," concluded Plenković.
