Drunk driver drove against traffic on Croatian highway with license expired in 1985.

(Patria) - Pula traffic police stopped a 62-year-old driver on Saturday night to Sunday who was driving a car with Pula license plates in the wrong direction on the A8 highway.

The incident occurred yesterday around 1:30 AM, when the man was driving a vehicle from the direction of Žminj towards Kanfanar in the lane intended for vehicles coming from the opposite direction.

Police announced that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol - he was measured to have 1.91 per mille.

In addition, it was determined that he was driving without a valid driver's license, as it expired back in 1985.

The man was immediately arrested and brought before the competent court. Police proposed that he be sentenced to 60 days of unconditional imprisonment and a fine of 160 euros.
