Peach in Kosovo: Meeting with Osmani and Kurti

(Patria) - President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani met with the Special Envoy of the United Kingdom for the Western Balkans, Lord Stuart Peach, to whom she conveyed that Kosovo's institutions are committed and engaged to peace and security.

Osmani emphasized that Kosovo continues to coordinate with international partners to resolve security challenges and, in this context, requested greater engagement from Great Britain, as a key NATO member and historical partner of Kosovo, the Presidency of Kosovo announced.

Informing Lord Peach about the latest developments in the country, Osmani stated that Kosovo continues to be a constructive party in relation to the dialogue with Serbia, while the Serbian side, through efforts to destabilize Kosovo, is trying to shift the focus away from the dialogue.

The President of Kosovo requested that the international community take a unified stance towards Serbia's destabilizing tendencies by condemning such actions and not equating the parties when it is clear who the aggressor is.

According to President Osmani, the legal order in northern Kosovo is being challenged by armed criminal gangs, directed by individuals on the US and UK blacklists.

Osmani stressed that it is within the competence of Kosovo's institutions, in coordination with international partners, to ensure the rule of law, peace, and security equally throughout the Republic of Kosovo and for all citizens without distinction.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti also met with the Special Envoy of the United Kingdom, Lord Peach.
