Results of the latest poll released ahead of the second round of Croatian presidential elections

(Patria) - Dnevnik Nove TV yesterday evening published the results of the latest poll ahead of the second round of Croatian presidential elections, which will be held tomorrow.

According to the IPSOS agency poll for Dnevnik Nove TV, Zoran Milanović still has a huge lead over Dragan Primorac.

Of all respondents who say they will vote in the election, 67.4 percent would vote for Milanović, and slightly less than 27 percent for Primorac.

Undecided voters make up 5.8 percent. The difference, therefore, is more than 40 percentage points.

Regarding Primorac and Milanović, there is an interesting detail - while all 100 percent of voters who voted for Milanović in the first round plan to vote for him again in the second.

With Primorac, there has been a slight erosion - 95 percent remain loyal to him, three percent will vote for Milanović, and two percent are still undecided.

As for the other candidates from the first round, 61 percent of Marija Selak Raspudić's voters will vote for Milanović in the second round, 27 percent for Primorac, and 12 percent are still undecided.

Ivane Kekin's voters are almost all for Milanović - 94 percent, and six percent for Primorac.

Voters of the remaining candidates - Tihomir Jonjić, Branka Lozo, Miro Bulj, and Niko Tokić Kartel - are divided - 34 percent will vote for Milanović, 39 percent for Primorac, while 27 percent are still undecided.

It is also interesting that those who did not vote in the first round, but say they will vote in the second round, are more inclined towards Milanović - 65 percent will vote for him, 27 percent for Primorac, and eight percent are undecided.

It is also interesting to see how Milanović and Primorac's support looks in relation to how these same people voted in the parliamentary elections a few months ago. In Zoran Milanović's case - consolidated, and even more so, and in Dragan Primorac's case - not really.

Specifically, 71 percent of HDZ and partner voters from the last parliamentary elections would vote for Primorac, which is somewhat surprising for a party with a fairly loyal base.

As many as 26 percent of HDZ voters from the parliamentary elections will choose Zoran Milanović in the second round of the presidential elections, and three percent are undecided.

The SDP voters will be the army this time - 99 percent in the second round are with Milanović, one percent for Primorac, with no undecided voters.

And although the Homeland Movement formally supported Primorac, 63 percent of their voters from the parliamentary elections will now vote for Milanović, 21 percent for Primorac, while 16 percent are undecided.

Milanović has even greater support among Most voters - 72 percent, 13 percent for Primorac, the rest are undecided.

And all voters of Možemo! from the last parliamentary elections choose Milanović, with only one percent undecided.

This was a campaign without any significant events or peculiarities, especially in the second round. Only one debate between the two candidates was held, so it is also interesting what impression they left on the citizens.

Although some commentators agreed that both candidates were equally bad and that there was a lack of real content beyond mutual insults, it seems that citizens do not share this opinion, as 53 percent of them believe that Milanović had a better performance in that single debate. Almost 16 percent still see Primorac as better.

Almost a quarter of respondents (23 percent) were not attracted to the debate at all and did not watch it. Five percent agree with most commentators and say they were equal, and three percent do not know.

The poll was conducted for Dnevnik Nove TV by the IPSOS agency on a stratified random and nationally representative sample of 600 Croatian citizens. It was conducted on January 9, and the margin of error is +/-4 percent.
