NEW CASE SIPA requests documentation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH regarding internal transfers and takeovers of persons during Konaković's mandate

(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has opened another case against the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin Konaković following an anonymous report about internal transfers and takeovers of persons from other institutions and other levels of government into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH since Konaković has been at the helm of the Ministry.

Thus, on October 14, the Ministry received a request from the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) asking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH to submit certified copies of documentation (decisions, agreements, and other) certified with a seal and signature, which relates to the takeover of persons from other institutions and other levels of government.

SIPA requested the Ministry to submit the certified documentation as soon as possible.

As stated in the SIPA letter, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has an open case T 20 0 KTK 0026740 25.

Minister Elmedin Konaković confirmed on Saturday that he was at the Prosecutor's Office of BiH as a witness in connection with lobbying in the United States of America. As he said, he was "just joking" at the Council of Ministers of BiH that he had signed a lobbying contract. However, Istraga.ba published a contract with the signature of Elmedin Konaković.

“They called me to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH a month ago as a witness. I did not know which case it was about. When I arrived, the prosecutor and her investigator were courteous. They said to me, is this your statement on Klix when I said that Kajganić (the Chief State Prosecutor, editor's note) opened an investigation against me personally because I was joking at the Council of Ministers of BiH that lobbying in America goes through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, that I personally signed that contract. That is impossible because I do not have that position. It would be illegal if I had,” said Konaković on Saturday evening.

Whether Konaković gave a false statement will be determined by the investigative authorities.
