Largest drug seizure in BiH

(Patria) - Acting under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, SIPA police officers, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska PU East Sarajevo, seized about 900 kilograms of the narcotic drug marijuana-skunk, which was seized in a truck with Montenegrin license plates, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.

- The operation was carried out in the early morning hours, when two trucks with trailers and one passenger motor vehicle were stopped at the Krupac location in East Sarajevo. During the search of the stopped vehicles, a large quantity of the narcotic drug marijuana-"skunk", packed in several different packages, was found in one truck. According to preliminary estimates, this is a quantity of about 900 kg of narcotic drugs, which is the largest drug seizure ever carried out in the territory of BiH.

The narcotic drug was intended for the illegal drug market of BiH, and the seized narcotic drug reaches a price of more than 2 million KM on the illegal market in BiH, while its price on the illegal market in EU countries is many times higher.

During the operation, 5 suspects, citizens of Montenegro, were deprived of their liberty, who will be handed over to the acting prosecutor, who will decide on further activities in the case after questioning the suspects.

- The suspects are under investigation for the criminal offenses of organized crime (Article 250 of the Criminal Code of BiH) and unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs. During the operation, exceptional coordination and cooperation were achieved between the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the police agencies that participated in the operation.
