(Patria) - Today, protests are being held in Belgrade, organized by students under the name "15 for 15," which are part of months-long demonstrations following the collapse of a canopy at the railway station in Novi Sad, in which 15 people died.
According to estimates by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, up to 107,000 people gathered at today's protest, and that this number is currently "declining."
"There have been no major incidents or disturbances of public order so far, and the Ministry of Interior once again appeals to all participants of the gathering to preserve the peace and dignity of our country in the coming hours, in the spirit of civic responsibility and respecting the laws," the Ministry of Interior stated.
The protests began at 4:00 PM, and the end is still not in sight. The students selected several of their representatives who held speeches at Slavija Square in the center of Belgrade.
The protests are attended by students, as well as other citizens, from many major cities in Serbia, who have come to the capital of the neighboring country in various ways.
