Young man attacks ex-girlfriend with a knife in Belgrade, man who intervened seriously injured

(Patria) - In a horrific attack that took place in a Belgrade hair salon, a 51-year-old man was seriously injured while trying to save his colleague from her ex-partner who attacked her with a knife.

A peaceful afternoon in a Belgrade hair salon turned into a scene of bloody violence when a man armed with a knife stormed the premises intending to attack his ex-girlfriend, who works at the salon.

According to witnesses, the drama began when the attacker drew his blade on the woman.

At that moment, her colleague immediately stepped between them, trying to protect her from direct stab wounds.

In the struggle with the assailant, the colleague sustained serious injuries.

Despite being injured, with the help of other employees and citizens present at the scene, he managed to restrain the assailant until the police arrived.

The injured S.Ć. (51) was urgently transported to the Emergency Center with severe injuries. According to the latest information, he has been hospitalized and is under constant medical supervision.

Police officers arrested M.R. (37) at the scene.

"The suspect has been detained for up to 48 hours by order of the competent prosecutor's office, and he is charged with attempted murder," it was unofficially confirmed.

The police conducted an investigation at the salon, and witnesses are giving statements to establish all the circumstances of this horrific attack. The motive, as suspected, is pathological jealousy and unresolved issues after the breakup of their relationship, reports Telegraf.rs.
