Peace, European integration and other mantras for the masses: Čović's monologue - everything clear, nothing concrete!

Dragan Čović and HDZ BiH have gathered again, not to solve anything concrete, God forbid, but as if to seriously discuss "political challenges" and programmatic goals.

Because, as is known, without planning on paper in advance for 2026, there is no point in even thinking about real life in 2025.

Čović is telling us that they have analyzed what awaits them in the next three months. This probably includes three-day meetings on how to organize a meeting. And, of course, we must not forget that they hold power at all levels, which always sounds more like a threat than a reminder.
Then we come to the dramatic part – the open letter from four HNS members. They called for reorganization and a return to the principles of togetherness.

What a shock! Differences have sparked within the monolithic political marriage! Čović, of course, calls for "dialogue", because, as he says, he is "not for public messages" – which he himself stated publicly. Ironically, isn't it?

As for the HNS – the door is open, he says. Very hospitable as long as you respect the "clearly defined rules". Those rules mean you should not try to think for yourself at all.

Then Čović gets angry because people "misinterpret him". Because how could anyone misinterpret his crystal clear, unambiguous, and always consistent statements? The man says one thing, the media write exactly what he said, and then everyone "hears something else". Magic from Mostar.

Next comes the best part, what the public enjoys listening to, his three holy postulates: peace, Euro-Atlantic integration, and equality of constituent peoples.

Čović emphasizes that we can preserve BiH only through agreement, not force. Translated, this would mean that nothing exists in the country except him with whom agreements should be made. So, there are no institutions that, according to the Constitution and laws, protect the state, and more importantly, protect it from politicians like Čović or Dodik.

But, Čović has uttered 'peace, European integration, and equality of peoples' so many times that it has become an official mantra. The fact that you can't even change a light bulb peacefully without negotiations with three peoples and three international tutors – less important.

And when we mention international tutors – Čović reminds that foreigners should not make decisions. And, when foreigners, more precisely Christian Schmidt, imposed government, suspended the Constitution, all for his 'majesty' Čović, then everything was perfect and very necessary. And then he was a legalist, and he received a great gift of power that is impossible without him.

When asked about Nebojša Vukanović, Čović becomes a serious politician. He pretends to be above it. As if he deals with serious matters. Like agreeing to agree so they can agree again someday.

And, to save Milorad Dodik in all of this, but also for the Trojka to remain in power with them, because they have shown the most understanding for 'legitimate representation' so far! And, of course, to remain a European man, a champion of EU integration, even though he keeps the secessionist and so-called fugitive Dodik in power.

And in the end, Bosniaks, be calm as long as the HDZ takes care of you, you won't even know you've been neglected.
