Milanović on Dodik's secession talk: It cannot happen, much ado about nothing

(Patria) - I am trying to explain to all political Serbs and Serbs in politics that the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica does not mention Serbs or Serbdom in any word.

If they still consider it trampling and extermination of Serbs, then a cloudy day will bother them tomorrow, Croatian President Zoran Milanović told the media today.

He points out that he does not agree with all elements of the Resolution, "but a terrible crime happened there, the court called it genocide, and nothing can change the fact that a maniacal group of killers executed thousands of people".

- Now is the time to close this chapter and start living normally in BiH - says Milanović.

According to him, Stipe Mesić once said that he would send the army there in case of secession.

- I wouldn't, but it cannot happen, it's impossible. There is a lot of noise, not for nothing, but without a strong reason. I haven't discussed this with Milorad Dodik, nor have I with Andrej Plenković.

I saw that Croatian diplomacy, or rather the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in New York, which is obviously the HDZ office there, co-sponsored the Resolution.

They could have also participated in the promotion as the original author of the idea or initiative to recognize or not recognize the Holocaust. These are decisions that, according to the Constitution, cannot be made without the president.

But Plenković is not worried about that, even though it is unconstitutional. However, there are no consequences for such behavior - stated Milanović.

He notes that he is talking about all this because it is a serious topic for discussion.

- I wrote to Plenković about this today, but I know he won't answer. So, in a few days, I fear, I will show the public what I wrote. It's not an obligation to me, but to the Constitution.

The way Croatia co-sponsored the Srebrenica Resolution, the way Croatia approached it, is unconstitutional. The content is not disputed by me, but it was done behind my back - claims Milanović.

He repeated again that Prime Minister Plenković is forcibly interpreting the Constitution and systematically violating it - "he is the one violating it, not me".
