Milanović still can't 'digest' why Croatia isn't included in the Altea mission: And they can fly over our skies!

(Patria) - Croatian President Zoran Milanović also spoke about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina during a press conference. He commented on the overflight of American military aircraft and stated that what is happening in BiH does not mean anything to Croatia in one way, and in another way, everything concerning the status of Croats in BiH concerns them greatly.

"Americans fly over Croatia, their corridor is open. They pass from Aviano towards BiH. In the meantime, NATO has left Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is now some kind of EU mission. And what happened? A few planes, presumably American, flew over Croatia, routinely, because they arranged it with someone in Sarajevo, they don't have to ask us anything, they flew over," he said, as reported by Index.hr.

He stated that this has not happened just once, but is happening constantly.

"There was some kind of exercise in BiH, and everything is complicated there. Minister Bošnjak arranged everything with NATO himself, they flew in for an exercise that should have been two weeks later. But it was held on that unfortunate day of RS to show the Serbs. Regardless of Dodik, who says all sorts of things, these planes fly over Croatia because it is convenient for them. They can also enter BiH via Montenegro," he said.

Milanović reminded that Croatia requested to be included in the Altea mission because it is a NATO member.

"When that mission started, we were neither NATO nor EU. But even today, they don't let us into the mission in BiH. We can provide our people to Afghanistan. We are here for them to fly over us, but when Croatia, as a NATO member, asks to participate, they dismissed us like a bunch of kids," he added.

He says that Croatia is a country with its own pride and interests.

"How can they fly over Croatia? Well, they can do whatever they want. And what is Croatia asking for? Nothing. We would have two people there, maybe no one. We wouldn't go there with tanks. It's a matter of status, dignity. We are suspicious, while the Netherlands, which was in Srebrenica, is okay," said Milanović.

Milanović also commented on the latest statements and threats by Milorad Dodik, saying that all Serbs think what Dodik says.

"I don't agree with what Dodik is saying, I told him to calm down. But all Serbs think that. What Dodik is saying should worry everyone, almost every Serb in RS thinks that way. That is the reality. They want that, just as Croats wanted it in 1991. That does not suit us. But that is the reality. That is real life," said Milanović.
