Mass protests in Belgrade: Thousands gathered in front of the RTS building

(Patria) - Students from various faculties blocked traffic in front of the Radio Television of Serbia building in Belgrade today, where thousands of people gathered.

Dissatisfied students are carrying banners with messages "Don't lie to my grandfather", "They beat us, they weren't arrested".

They also gathered in front of the building housing the Dnevnik studio, and RTS went live with the protest this evening.

A group of citizens moving down Takovska Street returned to the RTS building, from where they headed towards the National Assembly of Serbia, chanting "Students have risen".

Citizens followed a cameraman and a journalist from the pro-government Informer television down Resavska Street, chanting "Murderers" and "Your hands are bloody".

According to a reporter from Danas, Gendarmerie members are located in Bulevar kralja Aleksandra.

Although students demanded to speak on RTS's program, after a two-minute live broadcast, there was no further reporting on the protest.

RTS's Dnevnik went live with the protest for two minutes, and the television's reporter read out the students' demands and said the protest was peaceful. During that time, students chanted "We're coming in".

RTS employees supported the students from the terrace, turning on their phone flashes.

In front of the RTS building, students left two empty sacks with the inscriptions "Money from inside" and "Outside".

One female student read a statement in which it was stated that this money should be "delivered to the president and tell him that the students demand a public apology".

One RTS employee came to the window and showed the students that they could not be heard on the broadcast.

In Dnevnik, RTS reported that student protests were taking place in front of the television building at that moment, because they were "dissatisfied with the reporting on the protests".

Students in front of the building were saying "Come out, fulfill the demands" and "Cowards".

A group of students headed towards the Dnevnik 2 studio to make noise during the broadcast.
