Local Parliament Decided: Andrija Mandić Not Welcome in Cetinje

(Patria) - The local parliament of Cetinje adopted a Decision condemning the behavior of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić.

The councilors stated that Mandić is not welcome in the capital until he "publicly apologizes to the citizens of Cetinje for everything said in relation to the capital".

"The councilors also called on the competent state institutions to protect the rights of the citizens of that city in accordance with the law.

The Parliament of the Capital City of Cetinje strongly condemns and protests the statements and positions of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić, by which he has publicly, on several occasions, grossly violated the dignity, reputation, and honor of the capital city of Cetinje and its citizens", reads the document which Portal Analitika had access to.

The Deputy Mayor, Marko Brnović, announced that the Parliament of the Capital City condemns Mandić's statements and positions, in which, as they state, he "grossly violated the dignity, reputation, and honor of Cetinje and its citizens".

- Therefore, we demand a public apology from Mandić to Cetinje and the citizens of Cetinje for the statements and positions that offend their dignity, reputation, and honor.

Until he issues a public apology, the Parliament of the Capital City unanimously expresses the stance that Andrija Mandić is not welcome in Cetinje - stated Brnović.

He called on the competent authorities to initiate appropriate proceedings to determine whether Mandić's statements and positions contain elements of misdemeanor or other responsibility.

- These conclusions will be published in the official gazette of Montenegro - concluded Brnović.

We remind you that the Cetinje board of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) initiated an initiative at the end of October to declare Mandić a "persona non grata" in Cetinje. This was previously announced by DPS MP Oskar Huter.

"Since the founding of Cetinje until today, many armies and occupiers have attacked the Montenegrin capital. No one in that turbulent half-millennium history has humiliated the people of Cetinje and Montenegro as much as the current president of the state parliament", wrote Huter on network X.
