Kurti: Serbia and Russia create problems for neighbours because they want expansion

(Patria) - Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti believes that Serbia is aggressive towards Kosovo, not only by not recognising it as an independent state, but also by engaging in hybrid warfare and conducting military training at bases near the border with Kosovo.

Kurti said in an interview with CNN that Kosovo is asking the West to put pressure on Serbia to remove those bases and stated that Belgrade has similarities with Russia, because, in his words, both cause trouble for their neighbours because they want expansion.

- On the other hand, I must say that Russia is probably imitating Serbia from the Milosevic regime. Now we see how the despotic president (Vladimir) Putin wants to turn Ukraine into a state, similar to the Bosnian scenario, which would be territorially divided, in order to be dysfunctional and create opportunities for further invasion of the territory - Kurti said.

The Kosovo Prime Minister points out that in historical, cultural and operational terms, the Kremlin and Belgrade have imitated each other and that this is worrying for Kosovo.

- That is why we are concerned because it is in the Kremlin's interest to spread other conflicts in Europe through its associates. And Serbia in the Balkans is a hegemonic state and at the same time an associate of Russia - Kurti stated.
