(Patria) - Gordan Grlić Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, spoke to RTVHB, a media outlet of Čović's HDZ.
-While Croatia was celebrating Operation Storm, as a military operation that brought peace and freedom, but also forced Serb politicians to the negotiating table, Serb, as well as Bosniak politicians, interpreted it each in their own way. For some, it was the expulsion of Serbs from Croatia, while others triumphantly began to celebrate the merits of the Croatian Army as their own, it is stated in the report by Čović's television.
Minister Radman, a friend of the leader of HDZ BiH, said that the best historical overview of that time was given by the former advisor to the Turkish President Demirel, Mehmed Ali Bayar, at the Dubrovnik Forum.
"Croatia saved its honor, and in a way, Europe's honor, because it got involved, as Europe at the time, due to various and justified situations, could not grasp the full extent of the humanitarian crisis and catastrophe that threatened Bihać and its surroundings. So it was truly a great thing and no one has the right to dispute the importance of that action," said Grlić Radman.
Looking back 30 years later, Radman believes that Croats in BiH have been deceived.
"If Croats had known at the time, as co-signatories of the Dayton Agreement, that the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina would not be equal, that they would not be able to elect their legitimate political representatives, Croats would never have signed that agreement," commented Grlić Radman.
