(Patria) - According to unofficial information from anonymous sources, a criminal report has been filed against the company ESC Factoring d.o.o. and several individuals suspected of financial irregularities related to the operations of Croatian Roads Ltd.
As Croatian media report although official institutions have not yet confirmed these allegations, available documents indicate possible irregularities in payments to contractors and subcontractors on the Pelješac Bridge project.
Allegedly, Croatian Roads Ltd. delayed payments to contractors for months, suggesting they collect their receivables through the company ESC Factoring d.o.o., which would purchase them at a discounted price. Croatian Roads Ltd. would then pay the full value of the receivables to the same company, allowing ESC Factoring d.o.o. to realize significant profit.
Also, according to unofficial information, contractors in some cases were only able to collect payments through companies linked to A. B. and E. G., suggesting a potentially prearranged business model. However, there are no official confirmations of any irregularities at this time.
But according to Patria's findings, E. G. is actually Elvedin Grabovica, who is a member of the Assembly of the company/founder of ESC Factoring.
The criminal report, the contents of which cannot be fully verified at this time, states that the suspects ESC Factoring d.o.o., H.T, L.P., M. M., A.K., E.G., and A.B. participated in alleged financial irregularities that enabled unjustified property gain for certain individuals.
The investigation is, according to available information, ongoing, but there are no official comments from the competent institutions yet.
