Christian Schmidt shot at BiH and Bosniaks twice. The first time he shot, "legitimate representation" did not apply to Bosniaks. The second time he shot, he gave priority to the legitimate representation of Croats and Serbs over citizens.
In fifteen days, he will come to Srebrenica to pay respects to dead Bosniaks. Because in Potočari, it is easiest to wash away one's conscience for what you have done to living Bosniaks. Before he even came to Bosnia and Herzegovina, I wrote about who and what Christian Schmidt is.
He shot at Bosnia and Herzegovina twice. Directly, his Zagreb mentors would say. The first time, he shot at Bosniaks as the most numerous people. The second time, he shot at the civic state of BiH.
When he shot the first time, "legitimate representation" did not apply to Bosniaks. When he shot the second time, he gave priority to the legitimate representation of Croats and Serbs over citizens.
Did Slaven Kovačević have a chance for final success in Strasbourg? No. Because his process before the European Court of Human Rights most resembled Bosnia and Herzegovina from mid-1993. Behind the separatist forces of the HDZ BiH, Zagreb stood firmly, all the time, with its NATO and EU capacity. Behind the separatists from Republika Srpska was, logically, Belgrade. Plus, these united forces had "autonomists" in the forms and deeds of Elmedin Konaković, Edin Forto, and Nermin Nikšić. And, again, these forces could do nothing had the International Community, led by Christian Schmidt and Michael Murphy, not joined them, as in the 1990s with the imposition of the embargo.
He will come, I said, in fifteen days to Potočari, Christian Schmidt, to pay respects to Bosniaks killed in the genocide. He will come, give a speech, place a flower on his lapel, and then go to his office of the High Representative to continue lobbying for the Constitution that is a consequence of that genocide to remain in force.
In Republika Srpska, there is no legitimate representation. There, the system is civic. There, the rule is one person – one vote. There, the majority is 50 percent plus one vote. Do you know why? Because Bosniaks (Muslims) have no chance to influence political life.
In the Federation of BiH, Bosniaks are the majority. And, precisely because of that, in the Federation, the majority is not 50 percent plus one vote. And, precisely because of that, power in the Federation is divided one divided by three. Because where there is a danger that Muslims could become a political factor, European democratic rules do not apply. It is easier to mourn Bosniaks than to give them equal rights.
Christian Schmidt will come to Potočari. To pay respects to dead Bosniaks. He performed a funeral prayer in absentia for the living on the day he suspended the Constitution of the Federation of BiH for 24 hours to form a Federation Government composed of parties that, whether publicly or tacitly, supported the overturning of the initial ruling of Slaven Kovačević vs. BiH. Kovačević lost. Bosnia and Herzegovina did not win. Serbia and Croatia, which do not want Bosnia and Herzegovina, won. The policies that honor two UZPs and deny genocide won.
Where are the Sarajevo liberals in the Kovačević case? Sabina Ćudić boasted that through her lobbying she "secured" the initial Kovačević ruling ordering that BiH must be a single electoral unit. Did she also lobby for this "second-instance" ruling that overturned the initial one? No. Because she did not secure the initial one either. She, in fact, did nothing. Just as Elmedin Konaković, the Minister of Foreign Affairs who cannot even read, let alone interpret decisions of the European Court of Human Rights until they are presented on Wikipedia in a language acceptable to him, did nothing.
And Nermin Nikšić? Focused on flood defenses.
