(Patria) - The new, 11th convocation of the Croatian Parliament was constituted in Zagreb today.
Gordan Jandroković was elected as the head of the Parliament for the third time with 144 votes in favour and six against, something none of his 11 predecessors managed.
Before Jandroković, the Croatian Parliament was presided over by: Žarko Domljan, Stipe Mesić, Nedjeljko Mihanović, Vlatko Pavletić, Zlatko Tomčić, Vladimir Šeks, Luka Bebić, Boris Šprem, Josip Leko, Željko Reiner, and Božo Petrov.
Three deputy speakers were also elected - Željko Reiner, Ivan Penava, and Furio Radin, while the remaining two will be proposed by the opposition.
Members of the Credentials and Privileges Committee were also elected, after which 151 members of parliament took the oath.
Members of parliament, elected on April 17, gathered today in the Croatian Parliament for the first, constitutive session of the new, 11th convocation since independence. Numerous other high-ranking guests are also present at the ceremonial session.
Today's session of the Parliament was convened by the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, but he did not attend the session itself, just as he did not four years ago.
