Komšić: It is inappropriate to involve Kosovo in a story with the President of Albania

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović today at a press conference in the Presidency of BiH also commented on the words of Denis Bećirović who at one point said that Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti is his friend.

"Taking into account fragile relations, we must choose our words carefully. I don't want to talk about who could be my friend in the region, although I could. We need to look at things in a way that we solve them together and understand each other better. I think we will have to wait a long time to join the EU, and it is important to develop regional relations for that reason. We should not have double standards. It is no secret that we do not agree on numerous issues in BiH, but it is important to improve relations with neighbors and people of goodwill regardless of that," Cvijanović concluded.

Željko Komšić also reacted, stating that the President of Albania should not be dragged into the story about Kosovo.

"So that things do not go in the wrong direction, the issue of free movement of Kosovo citizens in the territory of BiH is an issue between these two countries, and it is not appropriate to involve Kosovo in a story with the president of another country, even if it were Albania," Komšić stated.

He further said that relations between BiH and Kosovo in this context can only be discussed if the cooperation of the entire region is discussed, but then other countries must also be mentioned.

"If we consider it legitimate for Kosovo to be the subject of this story, then we cannot prevent Vučić and Milanović from talking about BiH. We must be careful when we talk about it," Komšić said.
