Prison commander in Valjevo killed himself with his service pistol

(Patria) - A security officer at the KPZ Valjevo prison, S.S. (born 1976), early this morning shot himself with his service pistol a few meters from the prison's entrance gate, where his post was located, confirmed for RTS by the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions.

S.S.'s colleagues from Valjevo immediately called an ambulance. After several hours of fighting for his life, doctors at the Valjevo hospital could only confirm his death.

In accordance with legal procedure, KPZ Valjevo notified the police of the incident, who conducted an investigation.

Senior commander S.S., as reported by the RTS correspondent from Valjevo, passed all necessary psychophysical tests at the end of last year to be able to perform his assigned duties.

The Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions stated that the safety of employees and detainees was not compromised at any moment.
