KFOR Commander: Tensions and mistrust still exist in Kosovo

(Patria) - Ozkan Ulutash, Commander of KFOR, NATO's peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, says that the continuation of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is still necessary, reports RSE.

However, according to him, this requires courage and sincere commitment from both sides.

- This dialogue is not only a political necessity but also a moral imperative for future generations - emphasizes Ulutash.

During his address at NATO headquarters in Brussels, at the end of his mandate leading KFOR, Ulutash stated that the dialogue process still faces obstacles.

- Unfortunately, there are still many challenges. There are tensions and mistrust between communities that hinder progress.

The political dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia continues to face obstacles. In this regard, NATO and KFOR fully support the EU-mediated dialogue.

As a framework for a long-term solution to open issues, I remain optimistic that with patience, commitment, and a constructive approach from both sides, these obstacles can be overcome - added the KFOR Commander.
