Compared to other EU member states, Croatia is considered moderate in terms of cost of living.

Housing

Housing costs vary significantly depending on the location. Larger cities and coastal areas are more expensive than inland regions.

In Zagreb, renting a one-bedroom apartment in the city center typically costs between 600 and 800 euros per month, while outside the center, the price ranges from 400 to 500 euros.

Purchasing property can be expensive, with prices in city centers often exceeding 2,000 euros per square meter.

Food

Food costs in Croatia are generally moderate. The average grocery bill for one person can range from 150 to 200 euros per month.
