'Spine Against Violence': Citizens across Serbia protest against the brutality of Vučić's police

(Patria) - Protests against police brutality are underway across Serbia, following last night's unrest in Novi Sad.

Under the name 'Spine Against Violence', the protests are organized by students who are currently blocking roads. The central protest in Belgrade began at 8 PM in front of the '29th November' Police Station.

Protests were held in Loznica, Čačak and Kragujevac, Šabac, Valjevo, Sremska Mitrovica and Zrenjanin, as well as in Aranđelovac and Smederevo.

Students stated on Instagram:

'We do not forgive Novi Sad. See you at the gathering, all together.'

Citizens of Subotica gathered tonight in front of the Police Administration building in Izvorska Street, in solidarity with the citizens of Novi Sad, who, they claim, were victims of police brutality on Friday evening. Demonstrators blew whistles, and some of those gathered approached the police building wanting to talk to members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Shortly thereafter, several police officers formed a cordon in front of the station. The protest passed peacefully and without incident.
