SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Representatives of the Serbian Army last night, at the Merdare crossing on the border of Kosovo and Serbia, received from KFOR representatives a response to the request for the return of up to 1,000 members of the Serbian army and police to the territory of Kosovo.
The Serbian Ministry of Defence forwarded the said document to the Office of the President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Army, Aleksandar Vučić, Serbian media report.
It is not yet known what exactly KFOR responded to the Serbian leaders regarding their request.
The response from KFOR was also commented on by the head of Kosovo's negotiating team in the dialogue with Belgrade, Edita Tahiri, who stated that the Serbian leaders "did not like the response, otherwise they would have rushed to publish it".
Belgrade based its request for the return of forces to Kosovo on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999.
