Kalezić for NAP: Presence of Mandić, Dodik, and Nešić at Vučić's celebration is the culmination of the 'Serbian world' policy

(Patria) - At the election victory celebration at the Serbian Progressive Party headquarters, right next to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, were the President of the Montenegrin Parliament Andrija Mandić, the President of RS Milorad Dodik, as well as the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nenad Nešić. The presence of the newly elected President of the Montenegrin Assembly was assessed by regional media as a kind of humiliation of the state of Montenegro.

At yesterday's session of the Montenegrin Parliament, opposition representatives asked the parliamentary majority what the President of the Montenegrin Assembly was doing at Aleksandar Vučić's election victory celebration, and whether Mandić had gone to Belgrade to vote, given that he holds Serbian citizenship.

The coalition For the Future of Montenegro responded that Mandić attended Vučić's celebration in the capacity of a friend and an authentic representative of the Serbian people in Montenegro.

Political analyst Danilo Kalezić tells Patria that such actions by officials of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina are not surprising.

"I don't think anyone had a reason to be surprised by such a gesture, because it is a continuation of the 'Serbian world' policy that has been implemented for several years. It is a demonstration and the culmination of that project, because you are actually sending a message to the public that an autocratic regime like Vučić's can count on power in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Macedonia," Kalezić assessed.

It is, he adds, a public manifestation of the power of a regime that, according to him, carried out blatant election theft.

"This does not bother Mr. Mandić to participate and be present at such a manifestation, all in order to legalize and legitimize the 'Serbian world' project," he pointed out.

He believes that the lack of reaction from the newly formed parliamentary majority is also not something that should surprise us.

"I am not surprised by Mandić and his followers in Montenegro, but there is no longer any reason to be surprised by the people who voted for him to be the Speaker of Parliament. No one is so naive as not to expect such a gesture. This is neither the first nor the last time," Kalezić emphasizes.

It is now up to the parliamentarians, he says.

"If there is anyone in that majority who cares about the national interests of Montenegro, they should show what they think about it, and the only meaningful action would be the dismissal of the Chetnik duke from the position of Speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament," our interlocutor emphasizes.

Answering the question of whether he expects an initiative to be launched for Mandić's dismissal, and what the outcome of such an initiative could be, Kalezić points out that he expects a formal legal submission of the initiative.

"There is a willingness for that, at least among opposition MPs. I doubt that such an initiative can get majority support, for the simple reason that those people know who Andrija Mandić is. If he bothered them so much, they wouldn't have elected him Speaker of Parliament in the first place," he stressed.

Commenting on the statement of the President of the state, Jakov Milatović, who said that Mandić's action sends a bad message, emphasizing that it is an act that is a matter of his personal and professional responsibility, Kalezić assesses that Milatović's statement is a product of calculation.

"He did not explicitly condemn Mandić's act. He gave a general assessment and stated what he thinks about it on a general level. That is not enough, nor clear, nor precise," Kalezić is categorical.

He is convinced that Milatović will do nothing about this.

"Mandić and the Chetnik group are natural partners for him. They are his allies, especially at a time when he is preparing to make a move that will mean a formal break with Spajić," Kalezić concludes.
