Kajganić in Belgrade: Cooperation between the two prosecutor's offices needed in prosecuting war crimes cases

(Patria) - Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office Milanko Kajganić met in Belgrade with the newly appointed acting Chief Prosecutor of the Public Prosecutor's Office for War Crimes of Serbia, Dušan Knežević.

The meeting discussed the cooperation between the two prosecutor's offices, which have had significant communication and cooperation in the fight against impunity for war crimes in the past period, and which is also realized in coordination with the prosecutor of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts (IRMCT) in The Hague.

The continuation of cooperation in the coming period was agreed upon at the meeting, as the BiH Prosecutor's Office and the Special Department for War Crimes and the Public Prosecutor's Office for War Crimes of Serbia are working on cases that require and are indispensable for international legal assistance and cooperation, in order for the cases to be prosecuted and concluded in the judicial institutions of BiH and Serbia.
