When the EU Becomes the Owner, the People Must Be the Guardians: Bosnia and Herzegovina is Not an Impossible Mission!

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country where logic and sovereignty have long been on hold. Absurdity has become the norm, astonishment a daily occurrence, and what should be a state is anything but.

Today, the entry of BiH into the European Union is advocated with such passion, we hear it from all BiH politicians, and they speak so passionately as if our salvation depends on it. And no one asks, aren't we already inside? Of course, politicians dream more about EU funds and some promised money, so they don't have time to think about the state.

Because, the EU has been here for a long time. And not just politically, but as an owner.

Just look at the banks in BiH. They are almost entirely under the control of foreign banks from the EU. When we talk about the economy and resources, telecoms, energy, almost everything has been sold off.

In the political system, we have imposed laws, foreign diplomats, and European commissioners who make decisions.

The judiciary and security are a separate topic. We saw the situation in the case of Milorad Dodik and others. The moment EUFOR said they would not assist in Dodik's arrest, the story of bringing him to justice stopped. Translated, without the EUFOR mission and directives from the international community, everything would stop.

And in this environment of dependence, we talk about "sovereignty". It's a lesson, as a former head of the Islamic Community often said, who writes his columns under the title 'ibret dana' (lesson of the day), that despite all these facts, there are still those who believe that this country has full territorial and political integrity.

And this is not said by the opposition, nor by frustrated citizens, but by facts. While neighboring countries demonstrate disrespect towards BiH daily, those who lead this country behave as if everything is fine.

They don't see it, perhaps because they don't want to. Or it's more comfortable for them that way.

But even in such a state, Bosnia and Herzegovina is not an impossible mission. It is an impossible mission for all those who want to dismantle it, suck it dry, and plunder it.

Because in every wave of attacks, every blockade, every humiliation, something emerges that surprises them again – the people and citizens.

The people of Bosnia and Herzegovina are not naive, even though they are tired. They are not defeated, even though they have been plundered. They are not broken, even though they are pushed to the margins every day. And that is why, when all institutions fall, when all systems collapse, the people will remain the last pillar of this country.

Not out of spite, but out of ownership. Because this is their country. And that is a truth that neither the EU, nor the neighbors, nor the domestic stooges will be able to avoid.
